While leafing through a book on Dutch master still lifes, it struck Braldt that in many parts of Europe—including his native Holland—“bouquet” is pronounced “booket.” Always on the prowl for puns, he leaped on the concept of Boucat. The glorious array of cats features a Birman, Oci, Somali, Blue British Shorthair, Red Maine Coon, an American Gray Shorthair and a Snowshoe. We love the fun surprises like the inchworm, ladybug, mouse and butterfly, and can’t stop marveling over the incredible detail— you’d swear the droplets of dew would be wet to the touch. Published from the artist’s original oil painting.
