Brad Betts has been an artist for over 15 years and has sold his coastal seascapes and maritime paintings internationally. He is on the Board of Directors for the Fiddlehead Center for the Arts in New Gloucester, Maine and is currently leading a plein air painting group of local artists.
Brad is on the 2005 jury panel for the Art of the Sea Gallerys Waterways exhibition and is also showing his work in their Gathering of Marine Masters annual event. His art has appeared in several other shows throughout New England, including the Annual Mystic Seaport Gallerys International Marine Art Exhibition.
His favorite subject is capturing the shadows, light, and colors that are created when waves meet Maines dramatic shoreline. His inspiration to paint the ocean comes from growing up around the water, deep sea fishing and sailing. Today, weekends are spent hiking and kayaking the Maine coastline with his wife and two sons.
