Meet Dan Brown

Dan Brown is as accomplished oil painter, watercolorist and illustrator. He was born in Syracuse, New York in 1949. While still in high school he enrolled in art classes at both Syracuse University and Everson Museum. He later attended The Paier College of Art in New Haven, Connecticut. Paier College was a very traditional art school that emphasized the basics and focused on painting and drawing from life. After graduation, Brown became a successful illustrator with clients such as; Xerox, Disney, Reader's Digest and the Pentagon. He eventually turned his focus from illustration to a career in fine art. Since he spent most of his time focusing on depictions of objects as an illustrator, still life painting was the logical choice for him. The richly hued, spare, almost photo-realistic compositions have become his trademark style of painting.
